Sugar Land Veterinary Specialty and Emergency is offering a paid 2 year supervised mentorship program with a primary focus on emergency medicine. We are searching for recent veterinary school graduates interested in a career in emergency and critical care medicine with a desire for close clinical mentorship from seasoned ER clinicians and consultation with board-certified specialists.
Experiencing one on one mentorship while working with a seasoned emergency clinician for the first 6 months.
Being part of a collaborative group of doctors in a specialty setting who enjoy practicing high-quality medicine and surgery. This is an opportunity to learn without working excessive hours for internship wages.
Rotation through specialty sections including surgery, neurology, oncology and internal medicine without primary case responsibility. Rotation through a general practice to gain hands-on surgical experience.
Schedules that emphasize work-life balance. Schedules can include three 13 hours shifts with 4 days off OR four 10 hours shifts with 3 days off.
Availability of a handbook for common emergencies, M&M rounds, and communication training
For 2020 graduates, preference will be given to students who participate in a minimum 3 day
