The Instructional Veterinary Technician I, under direct supervision, participates in the instruction of undergraduate-level courses to meet the needs of the Veterinary Technology Program. This includes hands-on laboratory responsibilities and classroom-lecture instruction. May assist veterinary staff with medical management of program animals. 

Courses are assigned based on the employee's interest and area of expertise.  Ample opportunity for CE and unique research experiences are available.

• Effectively instruct students in all content included in assigned VETT courses
• Maintain classroom and laboratory spaces and assist with quality control on equipment and facility cleanliness/maintenance
• Support student success through ready availability, mentoring and advising
• Ensure accurate entry and completion of medical records
• Assist in the management of medical cases
• Support other instructors in class/laboratory settings, as needed
• Maintain professional licensure and stay current on veterinary medicine affairs
• Participate in the academic affairs of the department, college, and university, as needed
